Through our Paint It Forward program, we donate a full professional paint job to one deserving recipient each year. That recipient could be a family, a nonprofit, a community organization, or anyone making a difference who could use our help.
Whether it's giving a family peace in their home or restoring a local nonprofit's space so they can better serve others, we believe color has the power to change lives. Paint It Forward is our way of helping those who help make our community stronger.
Who can be nominated?
Any nonprofit, charity, community group, or individual family in Philadelphia or the surrounding counties who would benefit from a fresh coat of paint. When you nominate, please share:
- Who they are (family or organization)
- Why you believe they should be nominated
- How our painting team can help
- (Optional) Photos of the home, building, or space in need

You can submit a nomination for a family or organization at any time.

Nominations received after this date are considered for the next Paint It Forward cycle.
Winner announced Thanksgiving week
We reveal the recipient on our social channels and contact them directly.

What is the Paint It Forward program from Groovy Hues?
Paint It Forward is Groovy Hues Painting's community give-back program in the Philadelphia area. Each year, we donate a free professional paint job to a local family or nonprofit organization in need. It's our way of using color to spread kindness, peace, and positivity.
Who can be nominated for Paint It Forward in Philadelphia?
You can nominate a family, nonprofit, charity, or community organization located in Philadelphia, the Main Line, Bucks County, Montgomery County, or Delaware County, PA. Anyone who has painting needs and could benefit from our help is eligible.
How do I nominate someone for a free paint job?
Simply complete our online nomination form. Share the family's or organization's story, explain why they deserve to be chosen, and include photos if possible. All submissions are kept confidential.
Can I nominate my own family or my own organization?
Yes. Self-nominations are welcome. If your family, nonprofit, or community group could use a paint makeover, you're encouraged to submit your story.
How does Groovy Hues choose the Paint It Forward winner?
Our team reviews all nominations carefully and selects a recipient based on need, impact, and how our painting services can best help. We announce the chosen family or organization after the nomination deadline.
Is Paint It Forward a giveaway or a charity program?
Paint It Forward is a charitable community initiative, not a sweepstakes or promotion. While one recipient receives a free paint job, the heart of the program is about giving back and supporting neighbors in need.
Will the Paint It Forward project be shared publicly?
We often share before-and-after photos and the recipient's story to inspire others in the community. However, all nominations are kept confidential until a winner is chosen, and we only share with the recipient's permission.
When will the Paint It Forward winner be announced?
The Paint It Forward recipient is announced the week of Thanksgiving. We share the results on our social media channels and contact the winner directly.
